Buddy Find privacy policy

Last updated October 1, 2026

Buddy Find is published by TATSMANY LLC, trading as LLMA. This policy covers the current Buddy Find app, including its test builds, and these Buddy Find web pages.

The short version. Matching people and pets happens on your device. Cloud illustration is optional and requires your consent. It sends chosen reference images, character names and drawing descriptions to OpenRouter and the image provider. Your full photo library is not uploaded.

Photos and matching on your device

You can choose individual photos or allow Buddy Find to scan the portion of your photo library accessible to the app. iOS controls that access. The app analyzes photos locally to find faces and pets and group repeated appearances. Face embeddings and pet features used for matching are computed on your device and are not sent as matching vectors to the image service.

The app keeps copies of reference crops, names, selected character artwork, book settings and generated pages in its local storage so you can reuse your cast and reopen books. Photos used to inspire a scene may also be saved with the book. The app does not modify or delete your original photos.

What cloud illustration sends

After you allow cloud illustration, confirming your cast can start missing character drawings while you choose the adventure. Making a book or redrawing a page sends the references needed for that request. These may include cropped photos of your selected people or pets, existing illustrated characters, character names, scene descriptions, edit instructions and chosen place photos. The provider also receives technical request information such as your IP address.

The current app uses OpenRouter and the Muse Image model, listed by OpenRouter as Meta. These services process requests to produce the artwork. Image generation may involve processing an identifiable person’s likeness. Only submit photos you have permission to use, and obtain permission from the people pictured or their parent or guardian where appropriate.

OpenRouter and its model providers have their own data practices, including retention and possible use of inputs or outputs. We do not promise that every image provider offers zero retention or excludes training. Read the OpenRouter privacy policy and the provider information on the Muse Image model page before choosing cloud illustration. Processing may take place outside your country.

Consent applies to the current app session; a new session asks again before cloud work. If you decline cloud illustration, cloud drawing does not start. You can use the photo preview instead. Withdrawing permission stops further cloud work and cancels active tasks where possible; it cannot recall a request already received by a provider.

Storage, retention and deletion

We do not operate a hosted photo or book library for the current app. Cast references and completed books remain in the app’s storage until removed or replaced. Saved matching references are photos, not the original face-matching vectors. Device backups may include app data according to your Apple settings.

You can delete a book from its library menu. That does not delete the reusable cast, your original photos or exported PDFs. To remove all local app data, delete Buddy Find from iOS; offloading the app keeps its documents. Copies in device backups, Photos, Files or a recipient’s storage must be managed separately.

Removing local data or withdrawing consent does not automatically delete earlier provider requests. Contact us for help with privacy or deletion requests relating to cloud processing. We will explain what we can identify and request from the provider; provider retention follows its applicable policies.

Your choices

Change photo-library access in iOS Settings. You can choose a limited set of photos, decline cloud illustration, or open “Review cloud photo sharing” on the introduction screen and choose “Keep my photos on this device.” Use nicknames if you do not want to send real names. Review the cast before drawing, and avoid putting sensitive information into scene or edit descriptions.

When you share a book or PDF, you choose the recipient or destination through the system share sheet. That service and the recipient determine what happens to their copy.

Accounts, advertising and children’s photos

The current Buddy Find app has no account sign-in, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs or cross-app tracking. We do not sell your personal data or use your photos for advertising. This does not change the image providers’ separate processing practices.

Buddy Find is intended to be set up by an adult. Children can enjoy the resulting books with an adult. A parent or guardian should choose whether to include a child’s photos and permit cloud illustration. If you believe a child’s information was submitted without appropriate permission, contact us.
